Envy makes you miserable – but our society pushes us to constantly compare ourselves to others. In this session, learn a simple technique to experience less jealousy and more joy.

Which role in a company is the most stressful and miserable? Running things at the top, or working at the bottom of the corporate hierarchy?

Session 10: Connect to work
According to the best research, the vast majority of people in our culture don’t currently enjoy their jobs. How about you? Today, reflect on how to find or fight for meaningful work.

Session 11: Your priorities
We all need values to guide us through life, like a compass. But if you are given the wrong compass, you will end up seeking happiness in all the wrong places. Let’s think about how to get to meaningful values.

Have you heard of “retail therapy”? In this Session, reflect on how shopping and spending actually make you feel.

Session 13: The dark power of adverts
Advertising has invaded most of the spaces where we spend our time, often making us unhappy or anxious in subtle ways. In this session, find out how to shield yourself from this frenemy.

Session 14: Overcoming shame
Most of us have unresolved experiences from the past that can affect us in ways we don’t fully understand. In this session, begin the process of changing that.

Session 15: Connect to your status
So much of the way our society now works can make you feel like you are low status and don’t matter – whether it’s working in a hierarchical corporation, or flicking through Instagram. In this session, we’re going to look at how to work towards a more equal society.

Session 16: Connect to nature
What happens when people are deprived of the natural world? Just look at a zoo animal to find out. In this session, boost your mood by connecting to nature around you.

Session 17: Moving through nature
We don’t just exist as minds – we exist as bodies. Moving our bodies can give relief to our minds.

Session 18: A stable future
All human beings need to feel they have a future that makes sense. But in this culture, a lot of people have been deprived of that – through no fault of their own. In this session, we’ll start to reconnect to our futures.

Session 19: Restoring the future
Many of us wonder where we can possibly find the time and energy to really improve our lives and the world. In this session, learn about an idea that has been proven to reduce depression – and to create the space for us to do just that.

Session 20: Meditation and ego
We live in a culture that is constantly getting us to think of ourselves in small, cramped, selfish ways. What happens when we reduce our sense of ego and connect to something bigger?

Session 21: Connection found
There are many forms of reconnection we can choose together. In this session, we'll take a look back at them.

Will this Course provide me with support for anxiety and/or depression?
If you are struggling with anxiety and/or depression, don’t worry: there is help for you, and you can get better. All the evidence presented in Lost Connections shows that people can recover from depression if they are given the right support, especially through the seven ways back for which there is scientific evidence described in the book.
To truly solve the problem of depression, we need cultural change on a large scale. This Course will help you to understand the cause of your pain and what the individual and collective solutions are that can help.
Do I need to read the book to understand the Course?
This Course does not require any prior knowledge. If you have already read the book, this Course will help you take the wisdom of Lost Connections further and apply it to your own life.
Does the Course offer exclusive/bonus content beyond the book?
Yes. The Course builds upon the key lessons in the book. Each session includes an interactive practice to help you put these lessons into action, which have been specifically designed for this Course. Beyond the Course, you will also have access to reflective tools, meditations and journaling to provide in-the-moment support.
